Waking Night Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home Location: Tiptree, Essex Salary: £29,972 per annum (inclusive of allowances) Hours: 4 x 11-hour waking night shifts per week (9:00pm – 8:00am) Are you a calm, caring, and dependable professional who finds purpose in helping others? We’re looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our dedicated team at a children’s residential home in Tiptree, Essex. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in providing safety, comfort, and reassurance to children and young people aged 8–17 throughout the night — supporting their emotional wellbeing and ensuring a secure, nurturing environment. About the Role: As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll be responsible for: * Monitoring and supporting young people during night hours, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. * Providing a calm, caring presence and responding appropriately to any incidents or emotional needs. * Maintaining accurate logs, reports, and safeguarding documentation. * Carrying out light household duties and preparing the home for the following day. * Working closely with day staff to ensure consistent and high-quality care. What We’re Looking For: * Previous experience working with children or young people (residential experience desirable) * Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills. * Full UK driving licence essential.
